Travelling north...

August 7

Left Ingleton. Drove through Cumbria past Gretna Green, Carlisle, Glasgow. Toured Drumlanrig Castle - home of the Scott-Douglas family. Very grand, but tatty. Then Thornhill, Ballencleuch and Dumfrieshire.
Continued North to Loch Lomond driving along the side of Loch Lomond, then west through massive hills of Glen Coe.
Stayed at Hotel Orich near Fort William on the shores of Loch Linnhe. Dined looking over the Loch - superb views. Breakfast next morning watching the foggy mists over the Loch, slowly lift to reveal the mountains beyond.
